COMTEC NET was founded in 1992 aiming to introduce on the Romanian market the new techniques for supply chain management.

The very first project of our Company took place in cooperation with a French Company (COGISTIC SARL) which out-sourced the source code for a communication kernel requested by the French Ministery of Defence.

In the same year 1993, COMTEC NET was one of the active founding members of the Romanian Association for International Article Numbering, our staff completing at that time all the translations in Romanian language of the article numbering standards issued by EAN INTERNATIONAL, which became meanwhile National standards.

Between 1994-1995 we succeeded to produce and implement a fully automated EAN-based ERP for the first supermarket in Bucharest.

In 1995, COMTEC NET becomes agent in Romania for one of the leading companies in EDI field – TIE B.V. located in the Netherlands - www.tie.net. Toghether with TIE B.V. we have achieved a pilot project for the interchange of commercial messages between METRO and few local suppliers.

Starting from 1995 until 2001, COMTEC NET achieved several interesting solutions like: national product catalogue CEROM - www.cerom.ro (ORACLE programming), client server system for EDI transactions, qualification for a connexion to the European EDI-Switch, located in Warrick-London (UK) in order to access the X.400 networks.

Starting from 2002, together with IBM ROMANIA and EAN AUSTRIA, COMTEC NET implemented an ECODEX translation service, aiming to be the extension of ECODEX /EXITE system in Romania. Based on this service the EDI project with hybrid architecture Web-EDI and client-server TECNET (registered mark) was initiated - www.tecnet.ro.

After the audit visit of EUROBILLA representatives in 2003, COMTEC NET becomes the official EDI/EXITE operator in Romania for BILLA ROMANIA’s suppliers. Presently, the service is continuously growing BILLA ROMANIA planning to order electronically to 80% to 90% of the suppliers till the end of 2004.

Following the conclusion of the agent contract between INFLUE France - www.influe.com - and COMTEC NET, our Company entered the great INFLUE family, represented in over 30 countries worldwide. Our offer is enriched with top quality solutions for CRP and Collaborative techniques for supply chains.

We may state that our offer covers all the needed solutions for implementing ECR technology.

Sustained by a professional Data Centre using IBM and BULL ZENITH high capacity servers and using IBM ROMANIA and RDS infrastructures for visibility and access, having a <<mission critical>> support and administering 24/24 and 7/7 with a top qualified technical staff, COMTEC NET aims to be one of the first companies in Romania to offer de-materialization of documents in the near future.
